Laren Stover is a creative director, journalist, editor, novelist, copywriter and style-guide author with a degree in the fine arts. Her career has merged fashion, perfume and beauty with art, culture and lifestyle. A strategic, visual and conceptual thinker with an editorial background, she creates distinctive, fluid, voice messaging across all channels from print to social media. She was editor-at-large of the former Faerie Magazine and curated its Instagram account of over 100k followers in addition to writing for The New York Times, The New York Observer, The Paris Review Daily and several luxury brands. including Jo Malone. Prior to her 12 years as the executive editorial director at M.A.C Cosmetics she was associate creative director at Bergdorf Goodman where she repositioned the store as an accessible luxury shopping destination through its first outdoor and print advertising campaign. She currently writes for The New York Times Style section.
Frequently sought out as a culture style expert, Laren has been a guest on NPR with Leonard Lopate, The Early Show, CNN, the Caroline Rhea Show, Swedish National TV, WOR4TV and her work widely featured/reviewed from Oxygen and the BBC to The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, US Weekly, Vogue Italia and Deutsch Vogue to name a few. She has performed readings at venues on both coasts including the Algonquin, the Carlisle and was invited by André Balazs to read at The Chateau Marmont with co-authors and Lisa Marie and Marisa Tomei. She is about to launch a new edition of Bohemian Manifesto and is working on a new book on a topic she has covered for The New York Times.
